Important: The TD-8810 and TD-8840 modem/routers do not have DHCP enabled by default. To access the modem configuration and enable DHCP please follow the instructions below:

Instructions:

Download/Copy the file TD-88xx_27Mar07-up.dat to your computer.

1. Open network connection properties of the computer
2. Open TCP/IP properties on the LAN card
3. Enter the IP address as 192.168.1.* (* is any value between 2 to 254)
4. Hit TAB key on your keyboard to have subnet mask as 255.255.255.0
5. Click OK to save the above IP
6. Connect the TD-8810/TD-8840 to computer and turn ON
7. Open your internet browser (ie. Internet explorer) from your computer
8. Type in the address bar as 192.168.1.1 to log on the modem-router
9. Username: admin         Password: admin  
10. Click on Management option on the left hand side
11. Click on Update Software
12. Browse to the file TD-88xx_27Mar07-up.dat and Update.
13. The modem-router will reboot itself after 2 minutes then you will be taken to the main router setup page. Reset your modem
14. Please set up the modem with your ISP details.
15. Please change the LAN TCP/IP properties of your computer back to Obtain IP/DNS automatically
